Tournament Information

 

Our Rock the North tournament is approaching fast! We are stoked to be hosting 32 teams at this year’s tournament! We are hosting teams from Central Saskatchewan and  BC and all over Alberta. We are so excited for this weekend of fun and looking forward to some great games of lacrosse!   Please refer to the website for all tournament rules and regulations. Games will start on Friday  May 5, 2023 at 4pm. and play through to Sunday May 7, 2023.  Schedule is posted online and the full ALA 2022 Tournament Guide can be found on our website: http://tournamentssherwoodparktitans.msa4.rampinteractive.com/

 

Important Tips!

Team managers/coaches will be required to pick up their packages of swag and player game awards at their first game. Each team will be responsible for keeping these as they cannot be supplied again if lost or damaged.  Each team will be given a set of 3 for their 3 games.

Team managers/coaches please ensure a clean environment for all participants, please leave the dressing rooms clean after each use. Team managers/coaches please let your players know that no lacrosse balls are to be used outside of the playing field. Balls will be confiscated, and your team will be responsible for damages.

Rock The North embraces the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship. Abuse of any kind, by anyone, towards players, referees, timebox volunteers, coaches, fans, etc., WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.  

FIRST AID AND MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

At each rink there are 1st aid attendants.  Please call a rink attendant if you require 1st aid. 

For all emergencies please call 911. 

 

Rink Locations

To make your weekend as smooth as possible here are a few items to help you:

  • We are utilizing 3 facilities and 4 rinks this year  to host 32 teams.

Ken Nichol Regional Recreational Center: (2 rinks)

Beaumont Sports and Recreational Centre - Field house

Alexandra Arena (Leduc)  (1 rink) 

4919 47 Ave, Leduc, AB

 

WARM UP AREAS:

AT Ken Nichol Rec Centre the hallways of each rink are open for this, and there is plenty of green space outside for teams to warm up if weather permits.

AT Beaumont Rec Centre - Turf Field - check with the rink attendants for the warm up areas, and there is plenty of space outside for teams to warm up if weather permits.

AT Alexandra (Leduc) the end of the rink is open for warm up or the teams can go outside.

DRESSING ROOMS

Most rinks will have the dressing room keys at the game sheet table for sign out. 

Please ask a volunteer at the check in table for the keys.

Time Box:

HOME team will supply TWO (2) people for the time box

AWAY team will supply TWO (2) people for the time box

  • Scoreboard, Shot Clock, Scoresheet, Penalty Box gate
  • Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older

 

Games Sheets  -  Will be filled out online using the RAMP GAMESHEETS APP

HOME team is responsible for picking up the notes sheet with the online codes from the raffle/registration table and the AWAY team will pick up online codes as well.

  • Please make sure any referee write up are turned in with the game sheets
  • Please ensure any affiliates or overage or underage are specified on the game sheet. 
  • HOME team is responsible to access the online game sheet and post the information of every game.
  • Then the AWAY team needs to verify the game sheet information is correct.
  • In the event the game has an incident that needs to be written up. An actual game sheet will be needed and both teams need to complete the sheet with the REF’s and hand it into the registration desk. (game sheets will be available at the registration table if needed. The tournament discipline committee will be dealing with these events.

Games   Teams supply their own warm-up balls, with the “hometeam supplying the game balls.   We suggest using 1 set of warm up balls and then returning them to the team they came from. 

Jerseys

 

  • HOME teams shall wear light colors,  AWAY shall wear dark. 
  • If team colors are similar, HOME team will be required to change jerseys or use pinnies.

 

Note: If games fall behind schedule, on-floor warm-ups, rest periods, stop time, or game time may be reduced or eliminated. NO games will end in a Tie.

 

SCORES AND STANDINGS

  • Real time game results will be uploaded to our live tournament site
  • Please be advised the RAMP live tournament site does not calculate the standings, and teams will be notified by Saturday 10-11 PM of their standing and games times on Sunday.  If you do not see your games times by then, please call Sarah: 780 818 2512 or email our tournament committee at sptitansrockthenorth@gmail.com 

 

Awards & Medals

  • One player from each team will be awarded MVP decided upon by their own team coaches.
  • One player from each team will be awarded Heart & Hustle decided upon by their own team coaches.
  • There is one MVP and one Heart & Hustle awarded for each team for each regular game. 
  • Any prizes for Medal games will be at the rink
  •  A player can only win each respective award once during the tournament.
  •  The awards will be given to coaches/managers in their team package when they check in for their first game at the respective raffle/registration table.
  •  Medals will be awarded for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams in each division, with some divisions having playoff games for 5th & 6th, 7th & 8th place depending on the size of the pool.
  • Please send photos of winning teams to webpage@sherwoodparktitans.ca to be posted on our tournament website.

 

50/50 DRAWS AND RAFFLE TABLE 

 

A progressive 50/50 draw will be held over the weekend. Tickets are sold online through Raffle Box. Find the QR code and 50/50 total updates on the tournament website and in the arenas.  Draw will close on Sunday.  Check online for specific info.

 

Raffle table will be located in the Ken Nichol Rec Centre Lobby. The raffle tables will be cash only. All draws will close at 9:00pm on Saturday May 6, 2023. Winners will be posted and called and prizes must be picked up by 1:00pm on Sunday May 7, 2023.
